How to Ensure You Create an Album for the Year

I found a really neat option at my local scrapbook store that allows me to make a 2-page spread every month. This is good for me because it not only keeps me on track by making me do the pages but it keeps me on track to complete a book for the year. So how do I do it? My store calls it the “layout of the month” and I paid $15 up front to join the program and get my first 2 pages, tidbits and layout. Then all I have to do is complete my 2-page layout each month and return on the first Saturday of each month with it as proof, check in and pick up the next month’s pages, tidbits and layout. At the end of the year when I’m finished with all 12 monthly, 2-page layouts and I return in December, I can pick out an album which I can purchase for 40% off. I have already created one for last year and I’m 5 months into this year already – I can’t believe it’s already June! I need to finish my pages for June still.

One thing I really like about this is that it keeps me working on pages when I might otherwise let a lot of time lapse between scrapping. Finishing my monthly pages is fun and I’ve found that it always inspires me to create 2 or 3 more pages on the day that I do those two. So at a minimum, I’m completing 2 – 5 pages per month solely because of this layout of the month they set up.

Look into this at your local scrapbook boutique and you’ll thank yourself! Plus you can keep the kids busy all year with craft of the month clubs.
