Journaling Block Not Always Necessary

For shame!  I know, but stay with me. A lot of the pages I make do not include a journaling block for two reasons: I don’t have that much to say and I say it in the title.

If you look at the pages I’ve done, then you’ll notice I include the information about the picture or pictures in the title many times. Sometimes I pen names or dates near the pictures themselves. I have found that when I don’t have a lot to say about the picture other than to say what’s happening in a few descriptive words, then it makes for a creative page. There are several embellishments that say what you want to convey or you can make your own and include a couple little touches to get all the detail you need.

When I receive pictures in the mail from my sisters there is usually a card included that explains the photos. Several times I simply make the page with a few words and then hide the card in a pocket often behind a photo so the card with all the details can be pulled out and read. This frees up space on the page if I need to fit several photos or those descriptive embellishments and stickers instead of a journaling block.

Of course there are those photos when you need to journal a lot of information for archival reasons. Then I agree that you can and should use journaling blocks and if you have a lot to say then you can include that on a hidden card like I mentioned above.

It’s not always necessary to have one is all I’m saying. : )
