Springtime Origami Flowers!

I have been folding and folding and folding some super cute little flowers as I learn some new origami tricks!  These little guys are adorable and I added little stems to make them stand up on my desk.

They make me smile at the prospect of the coming spring and my own blooms that will emerge in my gardens outside. For now though – these babies are doing the trick of lifting my mood.

For the flowers I used one 6×6 sheet of paper for these small blooms but I practiced on some sheets of 8×8 first until I got better at the folds….basically I have a whole small garden of blooms on my desk and the ability to fold a piece of paper into this carambola flower from memory now.  :D

I HIGHLY recommend learning origami to anyone who has a need to make things with their hands. This is a truly rewarding hobby to pick up with quick rewards for the hard work you put into getting your folds right.  I’m definitely using some flat origami in some future scrapbook layouts – look for that later!
