Make Small Paper Blocks for Threaded Look
Want a super cool threaded or woven paper look on your layout without actually threading or weaving it? All you need is a couple small paper blocks with even widths.
On this “Wild & Free” layout I needed something to fill the space above and below my title block. I didn’t want anything big and busy that would compete with my title and I thought something green to match the photos on the left would be good. So, I used small green blocks of paper.
It is the placement of these small green blocks of paper that make them look threaded. They are the same width which makes it seem as though the two small blocks are actually one long strip (most of which is hidden on the back side of the page). The only other thing to consider is that they must be lined up evenly and this is easy to do by lying a ruler across your page vertically and aligning the left or right edges of the small blocks. I recommend adhering one and then using the ruler to adhere the second. This would be a great way to use a square punch!
This is very easy and cheap to achieve so I encourage you to find a way to add small blocks to make a threaded look on a layout or two of yours.
