If you need a creative way to use a monogram letter, then use it as the edge of a color block. This is a neat way to highlight the edge of the letter if the background paper is a similar color to the letter, but the color block is starkly different. There will be a very visible edge where the color block and the monogram letter meet.

On this “Kids & Flamingoes” layout I used the large monogram letter f directly atop the edge of the red color block beneath the rest of the title. This really highlights that monogram letter and gives the color block a creative edge.

It alleviates the need for another embellishment there. I would have wanted a super cool flamingo sticker or some other pink element if I hadn’t offset that monogram letter. It really becomes an embellishment as well as a monogram letter – a two-fer!
