Use Leftovers and Scraps to Make Christmas Cards
Last Thursday night, I made a bunch of Christmas Cards at a workshop hosted by my friend Gina who is a local Close to My Heart Consultant. Her card designs are adorable and here are the ones I made in the workshop:
We didn’t use all the dimensional elements from the Sparkle & Shine Complements sheets so I created a few more cards this past weekend at home using those that remained unused after the workshop.
Honestly I dug through my paper scraps stash and I couldn’t believe that the only coordinating paper I found was that red so I just didn’t use any printed papers. The only other paper I used was white cardstock and a strip of white vellum. Also, my cards are a little bigger because I had these 3 gray cardstock 5×7 cards that happen to coordinate with the silver and slate colors of these elements wonderfully. Talk about meant to be! Here are my designs:
The workshop included 10 completed cards and I used scraps, cards and paper from my stash and the leftover elements to eke out 3 more cards which is like getting 3 for free! Anyways I now have the proverbially baker’s dozen worth of cards to get me a head start on this year’s card making for the holidays. I always make about 50 cards. So these super cute cards give me a great start and I’m reminded I need to call my friend and buy a stamp set I saw.
