Use That Missing Letter!
When it came time to put the title on this “hunt eggs” page I fell in love with those big yellow letters. The only problem was the fact that I had used the letter U on some other layout. I was bummed but I was not defeated.
The empty space remained on the sticker sheet where the letter U had been. So I carefully cut it out and adhered it with very light pressure to my page. I got my trusty chalks out and using a circular motion with a foam makeup applicator I applied a yellow to closely match the other letters. When I was finished chalking I outlined the chalk letter by running a journaling pen around the inside of the sticker part. Then I removed the sticker outline of my letter to reveal the chalked letter that closely resembled the actual stickers for the other letters.
I placed the other letters for which I had stickers and the U looked right at home next to them. I also outlined the stickers by running the journaling pen around the outside edge of each letter. They all matched and I think it actually adds something to the page because that U is part of the page with the polka dots of the paper showing through.
If the chalk ever rubs off completely then the outline is there to display the letter U. This was a great save for my page because I was able to use the letters I wanted to use and I even recycled the negative of one of the letters.
So don’t be discouraged if you have already used a letter because you can probably be creative enough to use it a second time!
